This is a question for Christians?

why do so many of you push having a relationship with Jesus Christ onto other people, when that's just pushing them away. I don't know what verse it is or how it actually goes but its along the lines of this " you will bring more people to Jesus by your actions, then the words you speak." now i myself have a growing relationship with Jesus but every time i read or hear a person pushing their faith onto someone who isn't ready to listen yet, i think your just pushing these people away.
